Check the Messages on the Display Screen
Follow the instructions on the display screen to solve most common problems. If you see one of the error messages below, follow the steps here to proceed.
 
It is likely that a paper jam has occurred in the printer. Turn off the printer, then open the scanner unit and remove the paper.
Turn the Artisan 800 Series off, make sure no paper is jammed inside, in the cassette, in the ADF, or in other areas. Then turn the Artisan 800 Series back on. If the error is not resolved, contact Epson for help.
Cannot recognize photos. Make sure photos are placed correctly.
A printer error has occurred. Turn off the printer and turn it on again.
Turn the Artisan 800 Series off and make sure no paper is jammed or stuck inside. Make sure the transportation lock has been removed. If the error is not resolved, contact Epson for help.
The printer’s ink pads are nearing the end of their service life. Please contact Epson Support.
Contact Epson to replace the ink pads before the end of their service life. When the ink pads are saturated, the Artisan 800 Series stops and service is required to continue printing.
The printer’s ink pads are at the end of their service life. Please contact Epson Support.
Contact Epson to replace the ink pads.
The data is too complex to print with Bluetooth.
Error in the data. The document cannot be printed.
Error in the data. The document may not be printed correctly.
The combination of IP address and subnet mask is invalid.

The print head cannot be cleaned completely with Auto Head Maintenance.
Run a nozzle check and clean the print head. If quality has not improved, contact Epson. You can continue printing by turning off Automatic Head Maintenance.
