Load Paper in the Main Tray

You can print documents or photos on a variety of paper types and sizes. The main tray is for letter-size, legal-size, 8 × 10-inch, or custom-size paper, or for envelopes.

1.	Make sure the output tray is closed, then flip down the front cover.

2.	Pull out the paper cassette. Then slide back the photo tray and lift it up.

3.	Squeeze the edge guides and slide them out. Fan the paper, then insert it with the glossy or printable side face-down.

Note:
Load only the recommended number of sheets.
Load paper short edge first, no matter which way your document faces.
Load letterhead or pre-printed paper with the top edge facing the back of the paper cassette.
Do not load paper with holes punched in it for insertion in a binder.
Do not load paper above the edge guide.

4.	Slide the edge guide next to the paper.

5.	Adjust the other edge guide to your paper size.

Note:
If you’re loading legal-size paper, press the lever and extend the paper cassette.

6.	Lower the photo tray.

7.	Keep the cassette flat as you insert it. If you loaded legal-size paper, the end of the cassette will stick out.

8.	Extend the output tray and flip up the stopper. Leave the stopper down for legal-size or longer paper.
