Nothing Prints, Even Though the On Light Is On
• If the product is connected with a USB or Ethernet cable, make sure the cable is connected securely at both ends and meets the requirements.If you installed the product on a wireless network, make sure that both your computer and product are connected to your wireless network.
• Run a printer check. If the test page prints, make sure your software is installed correctly.
• Check to see if the print head nozzles are clogged.
• The product won’t operate properly if it’s tilted or at an angle. Place it on a flat, stable surface that extends beyond the base in all directions.If you want to print double-sided in Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.6 but the 2-sided Printing checkbox is grayed out in the printer software, follow these steps to enable the setting:

2. Click the 2-sided Printing checkbox and then select the double-sided printing options you want to use.
3. Try restarting your computer. If you still don’t see theicon, follow these steps:

Click Start, select Control Panel, then select Printers and Faxes (or Printers and Other Hardware and then Printers and Faxes).

5. Make sure your system meets the requirements. If you’re printing a high-resolution image, you need more than the minimum requirements listed. If you are printing over a wireless network, your signal strength may be low. You may also need to:
• If your printer is connected directly to your computer with a USB cable, use a computer with a high-speed USB 2.0 port.
• If you installed the product using an Ethernet cable, use a computer and router (or hub or switch) with 100 Base-T ports.
• If you installed the product as a wireless printer, use a computer and a router or wireless access point with 802.11g or 802.11n. Try moving the product and your wireless router or access point closer together. Also avoid placing your product next to large metal objects (such as a filing cabinet), microwave ovens, or 2.4 GHz cordless phones.
• If you print continuously for an extended period, the product slows down to prevent overheating. Stop printing for at least 30 minutes, but don’t turn the product off. When you resume, the product will print at normal speed.
• Choose Black/Grayscale or Grayscale in your printer settings if your document doesn’t include color.
• For Windows, choose Draft for the Quality Option (or Fast Economy on the Advanced tab) and make sure High Speed is selected.
• In Windows and Mac OS X 10.4, make sure Quiet Mode is not selected.
• You need to set up your software properly for network printing. See the printed Quick Guide for more information.
• If you installed the product on a wireless network, make sure that your computer and the product are both connected to the same network.To view the product network connection status, press Home if necessary, then pressor
and select Setup. Choose Network Settings, then select Confirm Network Settings.
