Paper Does Not Feed Correctly

•	If paper doesn’t feed, remove it from the paper cassette. Fan it, stack and align the edges, and reload it. Make sure the paper is not above the  arrow marks on the edge guides. Make sure the output tray extensions are fully extended.

•	If multiple pages feed at once, remove the paper from the paper cassette, fan the edges to separate the sheets, then reload it.

•	Load only up to the recommended number of sheets. If you’re printing on both sides of the paper, try loading fewer sheets.

•	Use new, smooth, high-quality paper, that is not curled, creased, old, or too thin. Make sure to load it printable side up.

•	Do not load paper with holes punched in it for insertion in a binder.

Paper Does Not Eject or Ejects Wrinkled

•	If the paper doesn’t eject fully, you may have set the wrong paper size. Press the  Start button to eject the paper. Select the correct paper size when you reprint.

•	If it’s wrinkled when it ejects, the paper may be damp or too thin. Load new paper.

Paper Jams in the Cassette

1.	Close the output tray extensions and the paper stopper.

2.	Pull out the paper cassette.

3.	Carefully remove the jammed paper from the paper cassette.

4.	Carefully remove any paper jammed inside the printer.

5.	Align the edges of the paper.

6.	Insert the cassette back into the printer.

Paper Jams Inside the Printer

1.	Lift the scanner.

2.	Remove the jammed paper, including any torn pieces.

Caution:
Be careful not to damage the cables inside the printer. Do not attempt to move the print head by hand.

3.	Carefully lower the scanner.

Paper Jams in the Duplexer

1.	Pull out the duplexer.

2.	Carefully remove the jammed paper.

3.	If the paper is in the duplexer itself, open it and pull the paper out.

4.	Reattach the duplexer.

Paper Jams in Other Parts of the Printer

If paper is still jammed after checking for it in other parts of the printer, follow these steps.

1.	Turn the printer off, unplug it, and disconnect any cables.

2.	Pull out the paper cassette.

Note:
If you can’t pull out the paper cassette, continue with step 3.

3.	Carefully stand the printer on its side.

Note:
If you weren’t able to pull out the paper cassette in step 2, carefully pull it out after standing the printer on its side.

4.	Carefully remove the jammed paper.

5.	Carefully place the printer back on its base.

6.	Insert the cassette back into the printer.

7.	Plug in the power cord and reconnect any cables you removed in step 1.
