Scanning part of a document

To scan only part of an image, follow the steps below.

For Windows users

Load the first page of a document in the Automatic Document Feeder as described in Loading Paper into Your Automatic Document Feeder.

Note:
Only set one page of the document at this time. If you set multiple pages at this time, the second page will be fed right after the first page is scanned and may become stuck in the middle of the document path as if the paper was jammed. In this case, you have to remove the second page from the document path and load it again.

Start a TWAIN-compliant application. (The example used here is TextBridge Pro.)

Select Select Scanner... from the File menu.

Choose EPSON TWAIN 5 (TWAIN) from the Scanner (driver) list and click OK.

Note:
You usually need to perform this step only the first time you use the scanner with your application.

Click the Auto Process button.

Select a page type you want to scan and select Scanner as the page source.

Note:
For detailed settings, refer to your application's documentation.

In the Manual mode window, click the Full Preview button. The document is ejected after previewing.

Draw a marquee (frame around a part of a document) to define the part of the image you want to scan by dragging the mouse pointer over the desired area.

Set document(s) to be scanned in the Automatic Document Feeder, including the ejected document.

Choose your settings in the Manual mode and click Scan. See Optimizing Image Scanning for details on choosing EPSON TWAIN settings.
