Replace the
scanner rollers after you have scanned 200,000 times. Check the
scanner roller counter to see when you need to replace the
rollers.
Turn off
the scanner and unplug the AC adapter.
Disconnect any connected cables.
Pull
down on the cover open lever and open the scanner cover.
Squeeze
the tab on the right side of the pickup roller cover and open the
cover.
Caution:
Do not place too much force on the arm inside
the cover when replacing the pickup roller.
Slide
the pickup rollers to the right and remove them.
Remove
the lower pickup roller from the spindle.
Place
the new lower pickup roller on the spindle, rotate the roller, and
slide it all the way on the spindle.
Install
the lower pickup roller spindle by aligning the notches on the
roller and sliding it to the left.
Remove
the middle pickup roller from the spindle.
Place
the new middle pickup roller on the spindle, rotate the roller to
line up the notches, and slide it all the way on the
spindle.
Install
the middle pickup roller spindle by aligning the notches on the
roller and sliding it to the left.
Remove
the upper pickup roller from the spindle.
Place
the new upper pickup roller on the spindle, rotate the roller to
line up the notches, and slide it all the way on the
spindle.
Install
the upper pickup roller spindle by aligning the notches on the
roller and sliding it to the left.
Close
the pickup roller cover.
Note: If you are
not able to close the cover, the pickup rollers are not installed
correctly. Make sure the rollers are all the way to the left, then
try to close the cover. If you still cannot close the cover, remove
the rollers and reinstall them, then try to close the cover
again.
