Make sure your system meets these requirements before using it with your scanner.

System OS X 10.9.x, 10.8.x, 10.7.x, 10.6.x, 10.5.8

(Fast user switching on OS X is not supported.)
Interface Macintosh USB
Display Color monitor with 1024 × 768 resolution or higher, and millions of colors
Note: Epson Scan does not support the UNIX File System (UFS) for OS X. Install Epson Scan on a disk or in a partition that does not use UFS. With OS X 10.6.x, Epson Scan is available only on the Intel application.
