Moving the Product Long Distances

If you need to move the product a long distance or ship it, you should remove the product from its stand.
Caution:
During transportation and storage, leave the ink cartridges installed to prevent drying out the print head.
  1. Turn off the product.
  2. Unplug the power cable.
  3. Disconnect any connected cables.
  4. Remove any paper from the product.
  5. Close the roll paper cover.
  6. Remove the paper basket.
  7. If applicable, remove the optional Auto Take-Up Reel and SpectroProofer.
  8. Lock the front casters.


  9. Remove the two wing nuts and washers securing the product to the stand and keep them in a safe place.


  10. Lift the product using the hand grips as shown.


    Warning: Four or more people are required to lift the product.
    Caution:
    Keep the printer level while moving it.
  11. If you are shipping the product, repack it in the original box using the packing materials that came with the product.
When the product reaches its new location, re-assemble it using the instructions in the Setup guide.
