Paper Menu Settings

The Paper menu lets you modify settings for the current paper, or create custom paper configurations for up to 10 different types of paper.

Paper Type Photo Paper Select the loaded Epson media.
Proofing Paper
Fine Art Paper
Matte Paper
Plain Paper
Others
CUSTOM PAPER Lists the custom paper configurations that you have created.
NO PAPER SELECTED Select to control paper type using only your printer software settings.
Custom Paper Paper number Lets you create a custom configuration for the loaded media. See the next table.
Print Paper List Press the OK button to print a list of custom paper settings.
Roll Paper Remaining Remaining Paper Setup On: Lets you track the length of roll paper remaining.
Roll Paper Length Sets the length of the loaded roll paper from 17 to 327 ft (5 to 99.5 m). Remaining Paper Setup must be turned On.
Roll Length Alert Sets the length of roll paper remaining at which the printer alerts you, from 4 to 50 ft (1 to 15 m). Remaining Paper Setup must be turned On.
Cut Sheet Remaining Sheet Number Displays the number of sheets loaded in the paper cassette from 10 to 990 in increments of 10.
Sheet Number Alert Sets the number of sheets remaining in the paper cassette for when the printer alerts you, from 1 to 50 sheets in increments of 1.
Roll Paper Setup Print Page Line Sets whether to print a page line on roll paper. Any trim line options selected in the printer driver will override this setting.
Roll Paper Margin Sets the top and bottom margins for printing.
Auto Roll Feeding Lets you leave roll paper loaded in the printer when a print job is sent using the paper cassette. After the print job is complete and a roll paper option is selected from the Paper Type menu, the loaded roll paper is fed automatically.

Set to Off if using Epson UltraSmooth Fine Art Paper .

Refresh Margin Lets you automatically trim the leading edge and remove any ink stains left by the previous image during borderless printing.

Custom Paper Setting options

Options Description
Select Reference Paper Lets you select the type of paper that is closest to the paper for which you are creating a custom paper configuration:

Photo Paper

Proofing Paper

Fine Art Paper

Matte Paper

Plain Paper

Others

Platen Gap Adjusts the gap between the media and the print head.

Standard: select for most media.

Wide or Wider: select if printouts are smeared.

Thickness Pattern When creating a custom paper configuration, lets you print patterns to determine the thickness of the custom paper:



Select the pattern number with the least misalignment.

Paper Feed Adjust A Lets you adjust the paper feed if you are unable to resolve banding issues even after head cleaning and alignment.

Pattern: prints an adjustment pattern that you can use to adjust the paper feed by selecting the lightest-colored pattern in each row:



Value: lets you choose an adjustment between –0.70 and +0.70%. Select a higher value to reduce dark bands or a lower value to reduce white bands.

Paper Feed Adjust B Lets you choose an adjustment between –0.70 and +0.70% for the bottom area of cut sheets.
Drying Time Lets you adjust the amount of time the head pauses between each pass (from 0 seconds to 10 seconds). If the image is blurring on the paper, you may need to increase the drying time per pass.
Paper Suction Lets you adjust the amount of suction from –4 to –1 or Standard to increase the gap between the print head and thin or soft paper. If print quality is reduced or media does not feed correctly, you may need to lower the suction.
Set Roll Paper Tension Lets you adjust the paper tension. Select High or Extra High if paper wrinkles during printing.
Remove Skew Lets you enable paper skew reduction.
