Scanning with NFC from Your Android Device

You can easily connect your Android 4.0 or later device to your product using NFC (Near Field Communication). Once connected, you can scan using Epson DocumentScan.
Note: If the scanner is already connected to the Wi-Fi network before using this feature, your mobile device will be connected to the scanner using this network. If not, the scanner and your mobile device will be connected in AP mode. In AP mode, you can connect up to four devices to the scanner at the same time.
  1. Make sure Epson DocumentScan is installed on your Android device and NFC is turned on in your device's settings.
  2. Load your original in the product.
  3. Touch the NFC antenna of your Android device to the NFC tag on your product.
Note: The location of your Android device's NFC antenna varies. See your mobile device documentation for more details.

Epson DocumentScan opens on your device and connects to the scanner automatically.
Note: If you do not have Epson DocumentScan installed, the app store page for the Epson DocumentScan app opens on your device. Install Epson DocumentScan and repeat this step.
  4. Follow the Epson DocumentScan on-screen instructions to scan your document.
Note: If the Android device and product disconnect, try to scan a document. The device and scanner should reconnect automatically.
