Replacing the Maintenance Parts

When you see a message telling you that maintenance parts are nearing the end of their life, you need to replace the maintenance parts soon. Make sure you have a new maintenance parts kit handy.

When you see a message telling you to replace the maintenance parts, you need to replace the maintenance parts to continue printing.

Replace all the maintenance parts at the same time.

Note: You can also replace the maintenance parts at any time by selecting Replace Parts from the Maintenance menu.
Caution:
Make sure you select Replace Parts or wait for the message to replace the maintenance parts to appear on the LCD screen before replacing the maintenance parts; otherwise the product's maintenance counter will not reset.
The maintenance parts kit includes the following items:
  • 1 wiper unit
  • 1 flushing pad
  • 2 air filters
  1. If you see a message to replace the maintenance parts, press the OK button.
  2. After the print head moves to the left side of the printer, open the right maintenance cover.


  3. Put on the gloves included with the printer.
  4. Place your fingers in the groove on the back of the wiper unit and tilt it forward slightly.


  5. Unwrap the new wiper unit.
  6. Grasp the sides of the wiper unit and pull it straight out.


  7. Use the packaging from the new wiper unit to wrap the used wiper unit.


  8. Place the new wiper unit in the printer as shown and press it down until it clicks into place.


  9. Press the OK button.
  10. Lift the tab on the bottom of the flushing pad, remove the flushing pad, and place it on the metal tray.


    Caution:
    Do not place the flushing pad on the product.
  11. Insert the new flushing pad into the slots on the product and press the tab down until it clicks into place.


  12. Press the OK button.
  13. Remove the new air filters from their packaging.
  14. Grasp the installed air filters and lift them straight out of the product.


  15. Use the packaging from the new air filters to wrap the used air filters.
  16. Insert the new air filters as shown.


  17. Press OK button.
  18. Close the maintenance cover and press the OK button. You see a confirmation screen.
  19. Select Yes and press the OK button.
