Ink Pack Safety Instructions
- Keep ink
packs out of the reach of children and do not drink the ink.
- Be careful
when you handle used ink packs; there may be ink remaining around
the ink supply port. If ink gets on your skin, wash it off with
soap and water. If it gets in your eyes, flush them immediately
with water.
- Wear a mask,
gloves, and protective eye wear when replacing the waste ink
bottle. Should waste ink get on your skin, immediately wash it off
using soap and water. Consult a physician if the skin appears
irritated or is discolored. If waste ink gets in your eyes, rinse
immediately with water. Failure to observe this precaution could
result in bloodshot eyes or mild inflammation. If waste ink is
swallowed, consult a physician immediately; do not induce
vomiting.
- After
replacing the waste ink bottle, wash your hands thoroughly.
- Do not put
your hand inside the product or touch any ink packs during
printing.
- Install a
new ink pack immediately after removing an expended one. Leaving
ink packs uninstalled can dry out the print head and may prevent
the product from printing.
- Install ink
packs in all the ink trays. You cannot print if any of the trays
are empty.
- Dried ink on
the supply port may cause ink leaks when the ink pack is reinserted
and used. Wipe off any excess ink before reinserting.
- Do not
insert or remove replacement ink packs during printing.
- Do not
remove the transparent seal from the ink supply port. This may
cause the ink pack to become unusable.
- The green IC
chip on this ink pack retains a variety of ink pack-related
information, such as the ink pack status, so that the ink pack may
be removed and reinserted freely. Do not touch the green IC chip on
the side of the ink pack. This may prevent normal operation and
printing.
- If you
remove an ink pack for later use, protect the ink supply area from
dirt and dust and store it in the same environment as the product.
Note that there is a valve in the ink supply port, making covers or
plugs unnecessary, but care is needed to prevent the ink from
staining items that the ink pack touches. Do not touch the ink pack
ink supply port or surrounding area.
- To ensure
print quality, use an ink pack before the date printed on its
package.
- Do not
dismantle or alter an ink pack. This could damage the print head
and may prevent the product from printing.
- Do not drop
ink packs or bump them against hard objects; otherwise, the ink may
leak.
- Store ink
packs at room temperature in a location that is not exposed to
direct sunlight.
- After
bringing an ink pack inside from a cold storage site, allow it to
warm up at room temperature for at least four hours before using
it.
