Paper Setting Menu

Select Paper Setting to customize paper options.

Roll Paper menu

Setting Options Description
Remove Rewinds the loaded roll paper until it is ejected from the paper feeder
Feed/Cut Paper Backward

Forward

Cut

Moves the paper backward or forward, or cuts it using the built-in cutter
Prepare for take-up Readies the auto take-up reel to accept roll paper. Only available if the auto take-up reel is installed.
Print Adjustments Paper Feed Adjust Select Quality First to automatically adjust the paper feed for image quality

Select Length Accuracy First if you are printing images that require more precise dimensions and length, such as CAD files

Print Head Alignment Select Uni-D Alignment to align the print head for uni-directional printing

Select Bi-D Alignment to align the print head for bi-directional printing

For each alignment setting, select the following:
  • Select Auto to automatically align the print head
  • Select Manual if an error appears during automatic alignment or if you are not satisfied with the results of the automatic alignment

Automatic alignment takes 9 to 35 minutes, depending on the selected alignment type

Advanced Paper Settings Various options See the Advanced Paper Settings table below
Remaining Amount Management Remaining Amount Management Select On to display and record the amount of remaining roll paper
Remaining Amount Select the amount of roll paper remaining
Remaining Alert Select the amount of remaining roll paper before a warning is displayed
Change Paper Type/Paper Width Paper Type Select a paper category and paper type
Paper Width Select the width of the loaded paper, or select User-Defined if the width is not listed (only available for custom paper types when Paper Size Check is disabled)

Advanced Paper Settings menu (in the Roll Paper menu)

Setting Options Description
Confirm ICC Profile Displays the ICC profile name; available when you connect the optional PostScript print server and select a custom paper type
Confirm Color Density Displays the color density; available when you connect the optional PostScript print server and select a custom paper type
Paper Thickness 0.01 to 1.50 mm or

0.4 to 59.1 mil

Select the thickness of the roll paper; displayed when using a custom paper type
Platen Gap Auto

Select the distance between the print head and the paper; displayed when using a custom paper type
Top Margin 3 mm

Select the margin for the leading edge of the printed image.

Depending on the paper type and printing environment, colors may be uneven near the leading edge if the margin is small.

Select the margin for the trailing edge of the printed image
Margin Between Pages Standard

The Standard margins between pages are 15 mm for the top and bottom.
For the following paper types, the Standard top and bottom margins are 20 mm:
  • Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper (250)
  • Epson Premium Semigloss Photo Paper (250)
  • Epson Premium Luster Photo Paper (260)
  • Epson Premium Semimatte Photo Paper (250)

For Epson UltraSmooth Fine Art Paper, the Standard top margin is 45 mm.

Select a different value as necessary.

Left and right margins are always 3 mm, except when printing a borderless image.

Paper Suction –4 to +3 Select to adjust the printer's suction setting; choose lower values for thinner papers
Back Tension Standard

Select to adjust the paper feeding tension; choose High or Extra High if paper wrinkles during printing
Drying Time Drying Time per Pass Select from 0 to 10 seconds for the amount of time the print head pauses to allow drying after each pass
Drying Time per Page Select from 0 to 60 minutes for the amount of time the printer pauses to allow drying after each page is printed
Paper Size Check On

Off

Select On to detect the paper width when paper is loaded.

Select Off if a paper setting error occurs when paper is correctly loaded. This allows you to set the paper width before feeding the paper.

Auto Cut Follow Paper Source Settings

Never Cut

Select Follow Paper Source Settings to follow the cut settings in Printer Settings > Paper Source Settings > Roll Paper Setup > Cut Settings, or select Never Cut to cut paper manually
Skew Reduction On

Off

Select On to enable paper skew reduction
Roll Core Diameter 2inch

Select the paper core size for the loaded roll paper
Lateral Feed Adjustment On

Off

Select On to correct differences between the left and right sides of the paper feed
Paper Eject Roller Auto

Select to control the paper ejection roller; select Auto to use the roller automatically depending on the type of Epson paper; select Use to always use the roller to eject paper; select Do Not Use when you are concerned about damaging the print surface
Paper Feed Offset –1.0 to 1.53% Select the amount of offset necessary to reduce banding on uneven color in printouts; displayed when using a custom paper type.
Restore Default Settings Restores advanced paper settings to their default values; not available with custom paper types
Caution:
If the Paper Size Check setting is set to Off, the printer may print beyond the edges of the paper, causing ink to get on the printer.

Cut Sheet menu

Poster Board menu

Print Adjustments Paper Feed Adjust Select Image Accuracy First to automatically adjust the paper feed for image quality

Select Length Accuracy First if you are printing images that emphasize dimensions and length such as CAD files.

Print Head Alignment Select Uni-D Alignment to align the print head for uni-directional printing

Select Bi-D Alignment to align the print head for bi-directional printing

For each alignment setting, you can select automatic or manual alignment.

Select Auto to automatically align the print head

Select Manual if an error appears during automatic alignment or if you are not satisfied with the results of the automatic alignment

Note: The automatic alignment takes 9 to 35 minutes, based on the selected alignment type.
