*The Printing Language and Universal Print Settings menus can be locked by an administrator. If you cannot access or change these settings, contact your administrator for assistance.

Paper Source Settings

Roll Paper Setup	Auto Loading	Automatically feeds roll paper into the printer
	Roll 1 Function (not available on SureColor P6570E/T3770E)	Select Take-up to use Roll 1 for take-up, otherwise select Advance
	Roll Switching (not available on SureColor P6570E/T3770E)	Select Auto to automatically switch to the appropriate roll paper for a print job You can select settings for switching according to Paper Type, Paper Width, or Paper Length Select Roll 1 or Roll 2 when printing to prevent automatically switching the roll paper
	Print Job Priority (not available on SureColor P6570E/T3770E)	Displayed when the SSD unit is installed When Same Roll is selected, priority is given to print jobs that are suitable for the roll paper being fed. When Queued Order is selected, jobs are printed in the order in which they are received. Switch the roll paper according to the job you are printing.

	Quick Cut	Select On to cut once between pages while the next page is still printing
	Cut Mode	Select Quiet to reduce the speed and noise when cutting paper
	Margin Refresh	Select On to automatically remove ink stains from a previous borderless print by trimming the leading edge of the paper
	Roll End Option	Selects the action when roll paper runs out and you load more paper Continue: Prints the remaining data Stop Printing: Does not print the remaining data Reprint: Restarts the print job from the beginning; available only if the SSD unit is installed
	Take-up After Cut (not available on SureColor P6570E/T3770E)	Select On to store the print on the Auto Take-up Reel (if installed) after cutting it off the roll

Custom Paper Setting

You can select individual paper settings for each registered custom paper setting (in the 01 to 30 list).

Note: You cannot change individual paper settings for custom paper settings registered through the driver or other software.

Change Name	—	Use the on-screen keyboard to enter a name for the custom paper setting (this name is displayed in the Paper Type list)
Change Reference Paper	Various options	Select the media type for the paper closest to the one you are using
Advanced Paper Settings options
Confirm ICC Profile (available only on models with Adobe Embedded Print Engine)	—	Displays the ICC profile name when using paper with custom paper settings
Confirm Color Density (available only on models with Adobe Embedded Print Engine)	—	Displays the color density when using paper with custom paper settings (the ink density cannot be changed)
Paper Thickness	0.01 to 1.50 mm or 0.4 to 59.1 mil	Select the thickness of the roll paper; displayed when using a custom paper type
Platen Gap	Auto 1.2 1.6 1.9 2.1 2.4	Select the distance between the print head and the paper; displayed only when using a custom paper type
Top/Bottom Margins	3 mm 15 mm 20 mm 45 mm	Select the margin for the leading edge of the printed image; depending on the paper type and printing environment, colors may be uneven near the leading edge if the margin is small
Paper Suction	–3 to +3	Adjusts the printer's suction setting for the selected source; choose lower values for thinner papers
Paper Size Check	On Off	Select On to detect the paper width when paper is loaded Select Off if a paper setting error occurs when paper is correctly loaded Note: If this setting is set to Off, the printer may print beyond the edges of the paper, causing ink to get on the printer.
Auto Cut	Follow Paper Source Settings Never Cut	Select Follow Paper Source Settings to automatically cut roll paper after each page is printed depending on the paper source settings Select Never Cut to cut paper manually
Roll Core Diameter	2-inch 3-inch	Set the paper core size for the loaded roll paper
Paper Eject Roller	Auto Use Do Not Use	Presses down on paper as it is ejected Select Use if the print head strikes the paper. If you are printing on glossy paper, select Do Not Use to avoid damaging the paper surface.
Paper Feed Offset	–1.0 to 1.50%	Select the amount of offset necessary to reduce banding on uneven color in printouts; displayed only when using a custom paper type
Delete	—	Deletes the registered custom paper setting

Universal Print Settings

Adjust these settings as necessary when printing in HP-GL/2 or HP RTL mode, or when using AirPrint.

Page Margins option	Clip By Margins	Adds the page margin value inside the hard clip area of the PS command of the data, or the size selected for the Base Output Size. Any print object in the margin area is clipped and not printed.
Page Margins option	Oversize	Adds the page margin value outside the hard clip area of the PS command of the data (when Auto is selected), or outside the size selected for the Base Output Size (when set to a standard size).
Page Margin	3 mm 5 mm	Select the top, bottom, left, and right margin values for roll paper. Note: Margins are 3 mm for cut sheets regardless of the setting.
Smoothing	On Off	Select On to print at the maximum resolution for the selected paper type. Note: This may result in longer printing time or insufficient memory errors.
Base Output Size	Various options	When Auto (default) is selected, the hard clip area of the PS command of the data becomes the base output size. Select User-Defined when printing in a custom size.
Resolution	Standard 300 dpi 600 dpi 1200 dpi	Select the print resolution; when Standard (default) is selected, available resolutions depend on the selected paper type

HP-GL/2 Unique Settings

Adjust these settings as necessary when printing in HP-GL/2 or HP RTL mode.

Line Merge	On	Select to merge the intersection of overlapping lines within the image according to the MC command of the data

PS Settings (available only on models with Adobe Embedded Print Engine)

Adjust these settings as necessary when printing PostScript data.

Version	—	Displays the PostScript/PDF version
CMYK Simulation	—	Select the CMYK colors you want to simulate when reproducing CMYK ink colors for an offset printer
RGB Source	—	Select the RGB color definition to simulate when printing RGB data
Rendering Intent	—	Selects how to convert color spaces for various simulations
Black Point Compensation	On Off	Set to Off to darken shadows when converting from a wide color space to a narrow color space
Preserve Black	On Off	Set to On to print the K-axis area using black ink when printing CMYK images
Auto Rotate	On Off	Set to On to automatically rotate print data 90° to the right based on image size and paper width
PS Error Sheet	On Off	Set to On to print the error message when a PostScript error occurs
Optimize Edge Quality	On Off	Set to On to improve image quality at the edges of your print. Reduces print speed and increases the margin on the leading edge by 1.4 inches (35 mm).
PDF Rendering Level	Levels 1 to 3	Normally, this is set to 3. Creates a PS that reproduces the PDF as closely as possible, but may not be printable. If this occurs, try lowering the rendering level to correct PDF printing errors (typical level is 3).
PDF Overprint Simulation	On Off	Set to On to print the image using transparent colors when printing with overprint settings
Clear All Settings	—	Restores the PS Settings to their default values
