Lines Appear on Scanned or Copied Documents

If lines appear on copy results or scanned images, clean the inside of the scanner.
Caution:
Never use volatile chemicals such as thinner, benzene, or alcohol. Doing so could damage the scanner.
  1. Open the scanner cover.


    Caution:
    When opening and closing the scanner cover, keep your hands away from the gap between the scanner cover and the printer. Otherwise, your fingers or hands may be injured.
  2. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to carefully wipe the inside of the scanner.


    Caution:
    Use only a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid or chemical cleansers. Do not use brushes or other hard objects to clean inside the scanner; they may scratch the glass surface and affect the print quality.
