Follow these guidelines as you handle the ink and maintenance
boxes.
Ink Cartridge Handling Precautions
Keep ink cartridges out of the reach of children and do not
drink the ink.
When using the installation ink cartridges included with the
printer, most of the ink is consumed during initial ink charging.
Be sure to have replacement cartridges handy.
Store ink cartridges at room temperature, out of direct
sunlight, and use them before the expiration date printed on the
packaging.
Allow ink cartridges that have been stored at low temperatures
for an extended period of time to return to room temperature over a
period of four hours.
To ensure print quality, use ink cartridges within one year of
installing them.
Epson recommends that you remove and shake the installed ink
cartridges once every six months to ensure good print quality.
Do not shake the ink cartridges too hard, otherwise ink may
leak.
The green IC chip on each ink cartridge retains a variety of
cartridge-related information, such as the ink cartridge status, so
that the cartridge may be removed and reinserted freely. Do not
touch the green IC chip on the ink cartridges. This may prevent
normal operation and printing.
Install ink cartridges in all the ink cartridge slots. You
cannot print if any of the slots are empty.
Do not leave the printer without ink cartridges installed. The
ink in the printer will dry out and the printer will not function
as expected. Leave ink cartridges in all slots even when you are
not using the printer.
If you remove an ink cartridge for later use, protect the ink
supply area from dirt and dust and store it in the same environment
as the product. Note that there is a valve in the ink supply port,
making covers or plugs unnecessary, but care is needed to prevent
the ink from staining items that the cartridge touches. Do not
touch the ink cartridge ink supply port or surrounding area.
Dried ink on the supply port may cause ink leaks when the
cartridge is reinserted and used. Wipe off any excess ink before
reinserting.
Do not dismantle or alter ink cartridges. This could damage the
print head and may prevent the product from printing properly.
Do not drop ink cartridges or subject them to impacts,
otherwise ink may leak.
The ink cartridges may contain recycled materials; this does
not affect printer functions or performance.
To maintain the quality of the print head, this product stops
printing before ink cartridges are completely expended.
If ink gets on your skin, wash it thoroughly with soap and
water. If ink gets into your eyes, flush them immediately with
water. If discomfort or vision problems persist, see a doctor
immediately. If ink gets into your mouth, spit it out and see a
doctor right away.
Epson's warranties do not extend to any damage caused by the
use of third-party ink or ink not designed for your printer.
Ink Supply Unit (Ink Pack) Handling
Precautions
Keep ink packs out of the reach of children. Do not allow
children to drink from or handle the ink packs.
Store ink packs at room temperature out of direct
sunlight.
To ensure print quality, Epson recommends using ink packs
either within one year of installing them, or before the expiration
date printed on the packaging, whichever occurs first.
Allow ink packs that have been stored at low temperatures for
an extended period of time to return to room temperature over a
period of four hours.
The green IC chip on each ink pack retains a variety of
ink-related information, such as the ink level, so that the pack
may be removed and reinserted freely. Do not touch the green IC
chip on the ink packs. This may prevent normal operation and
printing.
Install ink packs for all colors. You cannot print unless all
colors are installed.
Do not leave the printer without ink packs installed. The ink
in the printer will dry out and the printer will not function as
expected. Leave ink packs for all colors installed even when the
printer is not in use.
If you remove an ink pack for later use, protect the ink supply
area from dirt and dust and store it in the same environment as the
product. Note that there is a valve in the ink supply port, making
covers or plugs unnecessary, but care is needed to prevent the ink
from staining items that the ink pack touches. Do not touch the ink
supply port or surrounding area.
Dried ink on the supply port may cause ink leaks when the ink
pack is reinserted and used. Wipe off any excess ink before
reinserting.
Do not dismantle or alter ink packs. This could damage the
print head and may prevent the product from printing properly.
Do not drop ink packs or subject them to impacts, otherwise ink
may leak.
The ink packs may contain recycled materials; this does not
affect printer functions or performance.
To maintain the quality of the print head, this product stops
printing before ink packs are completely expended.
If ink gets on your skin, wash it thoroughly with soap and
water. If ink gets into your eyes, flush them immediately with
water. If discomfort or vision problems persist, see a doctor
immediately. If ink gets into your mouth, spit it out and see a
doctor right away.
Be careful not to touch any ink when you handle the ink
packs.
Even when the printer is not in use, some ink will be consumed
for all colors by head cleaning and other maintenance operations
needed to keep the head in good condition.
If ink spills, wipe it up immediately. To prevent the ink from
spreading, blot the spill with a dry cloth, then wipe it with a
damp cloth. The ink will be hard to remove once it has dried.
Maintenance Box Safety Precautions
Keep maintenance boxes out of the reach of children. Do not
allow children to drink from or handle the maintenance boxes.
Do not reuse maintenance boxes that have been removed from the
printer and exposed to the air for a long period of time. The box
will not absorb any more ink.
Do not disassemble the maintenance box; otherwise ink may get
into your eyes or on your skin.
Do not touch the chip on the side of the maintenance box or you
may prevent normal operation and printing.
Be careful not to touch any ink when you handle the maintenance
boxes.
If ink gets on your skin, wash it thoroughly with soap and
water. If ink gets into your eyes, flush them immediately with
water. If discomfort or vision problems persist, see a doctor
immediately. If ink gets into your mouth, spit it out and see a
doctor right away.
Do not replace the maintenance box while printing, otherwise
ink may leak.
