Cleaning the Print Head Using the Product Control Panel

You can clean the print head using the control panel on your product.
  1. Load roll or cut sheet paper in the printer.
  2. Make sure the correct paper type is selected.
  3. Select > Maintenance > Print Head Cleaning.
  4. Select the color pairs with faint or missing segments in the check pattern, then select OK to start the cleaning cycle.
Note: A typical head cleaning cycle takes about 4 to 10 minutes. The more color pairs selected, the longer it takes to perform cleaning. Depending on the status of the nozzles and the Auto Clean Max Repeat setting, this function can take up to 28 minutes.
When the cleaning cycle is finished, a confirmation screen appears.
    Caution:
Never turn off the product during a cleaning cycle or you may damage it.
  5. Select Yes to print a nozzle check pattern.
  6. Check the printed pattern to see if there are gaps in the lines.
