Creating Folded, Stapled, or Punched Copies

You can add folds, staples, or punch holes to your copies.
Note: You will need the following installed accessories depending on your output:
  • Folded copies: Staple finisher and saddle unit
  • Stapled copies: Inner or staple finisher
  • Punched copies: Inner or staple finisher and punch unit
  1. Place your originals on the ADF.
  2. Press the  home button, if necessary.
  3. Select Copy.
  4. Select Basic Settings and then select Paper Setting and select the paper source for your copies.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • To fold your copies, select the Advanced tab and select Fold, then enable the Half Fold or Tri Fold setting. Specify the details such as the number of sheets per fold.
    • To staple your copies, select Finishing > Staple and select the staple position.
Note: You can also manually staple your copies with the optional staple finisher.
    • To add punch holes to your copies, select Finishing > Punch and select the punch hole location.
Note: Adjust the print data so that you do not print at the punch location. This can cause a punch failure or a paper jam. Select Advanced > Binding Margin and make sure the binding width is at least 0.73 inches (18.5 mm).
  6. When you are ready to copy, select the Copy icon.
