Using the Manual Stapler

The optional staple finisher can be used to manually staple documents.

The maximum number of pages that can be stapled depends on the size and paper weight of the documents to be stapled.

Paper size: A4 or Letter:
  • 60 to 90 g/m2: 50 sheets
  • 91 to 105 g/m2: 40 sheets
Paper size: A3 or Legal:
  • 60 to 90 g/m2: 30 sheets
  • 91 to 105 g/m2: 20 sheets
  1. Press the staple position switching button.


    The shutter of the paper output unit of the finisher tray opens and the manual staple mode is enabled.

  2. Set the staple position by pressing the staple position button until the green light is shown under the desired position.


  3. Load paper with the printable side facing down and the shutter for the paper finisher tray open. Adjust the paper orientation according to the staple position.
    Caution:
    Do not place your hand into the opening of the paper output unit.
    Note: Press the staple position switching button before loading paper. You cannot change the position when paper is loaded. When paper is loaded correctly the staple button light turns on. If the light does not turn on, load the paper again.


  4. Press the staple button to staple the paper. Do not touch the paper while stapling.
  5. To exit manual stapling mode, press the staple position switching button several times to turn the light off.
