If print quality has declined and the nozzle check pattern
indicates clogged nozzles, you can clean the printhead.
Consider the following when preparing to clean the
printhead:
- Ink is consumed during printhead cleaning. Clean the printhead
only if the print quality declines.
- Cleaning all nozzles uses ink from all colors.
- Power Cleaning consumes more ink than printhead cleaning. Check
the remaining ink level in advance, and prepare a new ink pack
before you start cleaning if the ink is low. If the nozzles are
still clogged after performing Power Cleaning, turn off the printer
and leave it off overnight. If the nozzles are still clogged,
contact Epson for support.
- Prepare a new maintenance box if one of the maintenance boxes
is low on space. Because ink used during cleaning does not
evaporate quickly, repeated head cleanings can fill the maintenance
boxes.
- You cannot clean the printhead if the temperature conditions
are not within specifications. See the link below.
Note: When
Auto
Cleaning is enabled, the nozzles are checked after head
cleaning and, if clogging is detected, auto cleaning is performed.
Depending on the status of the nozzles, this process can take up to
32 minutes.
