You can
update the projector firmware using a computer and a USB cable.
Note: You need a
USB Type A to USB Mini-B cable.
Your computer must be running one of the following
operating systems when updating firmware:
- Windows 8.1 (32- and 64-bit)
- Windows 10 (32- and 64-bit)
- Windows 11 (64-bit)
- macOS 10.13.x (64-bit)
- macOS 10.14.x (64-bit)
- macOS 10.15.x (64-bit)
- Download the projector firmware file
from the Epson support website. Make sure it is the correct
firmware file for your model.
Note:
If the firmware file is not the correct file for your model,
or if you renamed the file, the update will not start.
- Turn on the projector.
- Connect the USB cable to the
computer's USB port and to the projector's Service port.
- Press the Menu button, select the Information menu, and press
Enter.
- Select Firmware Update and press
Enter.
- Select Yes to start the firmware update.
Note: Do not
disconnect the power cable or remove the USB cable while the
firmware is updating.
All of the status indicators on the projector turn on and the
projector enters firmware update mode. The projector appears as a
removable drive on the connected computer.
Note:
If the projector is in firmware update mode for longer than 20
minutes before a firmware update starts, it automatically shuts
off. Return to step 2 and repeat the process.
- Copy the downloaded firmware file onto
the root (top) directory of the projector's removable drive.
Note: Do not
rename the firmware file.
- Safely remove the projector's
removable drive from the computer, then disconnect the USB cable
from the projector.
The firmware update starts.
While the firmware is updating,
the status indicators on the projector start flashing. After the
update is complete, the projector enters standby mode.
If
Direct Power On is enabled, the
projector restarts automatically.
Note:
If all status indicators flash rapidly, the firmware update may
have failed. Disconnect and reconnect the projector's power cord.
If the indicators continue to flash even after reconnecting the
power cord, unplug the cord from the electrical outlet and contact
Epson Support.
After the update is complete, check the Version setting in the Information menu to confirm that the firmware
was updated successfully.
