Printing From Your Computer
When you print from your computer, you can edit, enhance, and organize your photos using photo software such as ArcSoft PhotoImpression.
Before you start, make sure your PictureMate software is installed and PictureMate is connected to your computer, as described in the Basics book.
Also make sure you have loaded paper as described in Loading Paper. See Supported Paper for details on the paper you should use.
To print, follow the instructions in these sections for your computer:

Tip: If your digital camera supports Exif Print technology, you can use it to ensure the most accurate reproduction of your photographs.
Loading Paper
Caution: Don’t load plain paper or you may damage PictureMate.

Press the Open button to open the output tray.

Note: Load a maximum of 20 sheets at one time. Make sure paper is glossy or whiter side up to prevent smearing.
Store any unused paper in the original package and keep it flat in a dry area to prevent curling.
Note: When you need more paper, order a PictureMate 200 Series Print Pack. See Supported Paper for more information.
Supported Paper
Use PictureMate photo paper from a PictureMate 200 Series Print Pack.
The following Print Packs are available:
Note: If you need more paper for any reason, you can use Epson Premium Photo Paper Glossy or Semigloss, borderless 4 × 6-inch size.
Printing From a Windows Computer
You can print your photos from an imaging application, or you can use the Picture and Fax Viewer in Windows® XP (described below). If you’re running Windows Vista, see Printing with the Windows Vista Photo Gallery.

Right-click the photo, highlight Open With, and select Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.

Click Next. You see a Picture Selection window:

Select the photo(s) you want to print and click Next. You see the Printing Options window:

Select your EPSON PictureMate model and click Printing Preferences. You see the printer settings window:

Select Borderless to print a photo without borders.
Select Borders to print with a white border all around.
If too much of your photo edges are cut off, set the Expansion slider to Min.
If you see a white edge on your photo, select Mid or Max.
Auto Correction improves the quality of photos that are too dark or have a color cast.
Sepia changes the colors to brown for an old-fashioned look.
Black & White changes color photos to black and white.
If your photo was taken with a digital camera, select Digital Camera Correction to minimize common digital flaws.
Select Enhance Fine Details to bring out the fine details of a particularly intricate photo (printing may be slower).
Select Print Preview to see what your photo will look like before you print.
Tip: For more information about printer settings, click Help.

At the Photo Printing Wizard screen, click Next. You see a Layout Selection window:

Select Full page photo print and click Next.
During printing, this window appears on your computer screen showing the progress of your print job. You can cancel, pause, or resume printing.

Selecting Default Settings
Your printer settings apply only to the program you’re currently using. If you want, you can change the Windows default printer settings for all your programs.

Select Printer Settings. You see the printer settings window.

You can still change the printer settings in your individual programs when you need to.
Printing with the Windows Vista Photo Gallery
You can print your photos from an imaging application or you can use the Windows Photo Gallery in Windows Vista.

Right-click the photo, highlight Open With, and select Windows Photo Gallery.

Click the Print icon at the top of the screen, then select Print.

To change other print settings, click Options in the lower right corner of the screen and select Printer Properties. Borderless printing is selected by default, but you can print your pictures with white borders at the edges, change the orientation from portrait to landscape, and make other changes.
Note: If you’re printing borderless, you can adjust the Expansion slider in the Borderless box to choose Max, Min, or the in-between setting. Min retains the entire image in your print, but there may be a small white edge on the borders of the print. Max expands the image to ensure that there are no unprinted edges, but the edges of the image may not appear in the print.
Click OK if you make any changes in Printer Properties.

Printing From a Macintosh
You can print your photos from any Macintosh® imaging application.

Select your PictureMate model from the Format for menu.

Open the Paper Size menu and place your cursor on the 4 × 6 in option. You see extended options:
Select 4 × 6 in (Borderless) to print without any borders.
Select 4 × 6 in (Borders) to print with white borders all around.
Note: iPhoto® expands two sides of an image to the maximum print area, so you may see two small borders on an iPhoto print.

Select the direction you want your photo to print ( for portrait,  for landscape facing right, or  for landscape facing left) as the Orientation setting.

Select Print from the File menu.

Select Print Settings from the pop-up menu. You see the printer settings window:

Select Enhance Fine Details to bring out the fine details of a particularly intricate photo (printing may be slower).
Sepia changes the colors to brown for an old-fashioned look.
Black & White changes color photos to black and white.
If too much of your photo edges are cut off, set the Expansion slider to Min.

To monitor the progress of your print job, click the  PictureMate or Print Center icon when it appears in the dock. If you clicked the Print Center icon, double-click your PictureMate model.

If multiple print jobs are listed and you want one to print before the other(s), select the job and click the Status arrow to move it up.

Printing Photos Using ArcSoft PhotoImpression
You can use ArcSoft PhotoImpression to organize, retouch, and print your photos. Follow the steps in these sections for your operating system:
Windows
Macintosh
Make sure you installed ArcSoft PhotoImpression as described in the Basics book.
Windows

Click Start or . Then click Programs or All Programs, select ArcSoft PhotoImpression 5, and select PhotoImpression 5. You see this window:

Select the folder on your computer that contains your photos (PhotoImpression automatically accesses the My Pictures or Pictures folder). Thumbnails of your photos appear on the main PhotoImpression window.

Storing Unused Paper
Return unused paper to the original package. Store paper flat to prevent curling, and keep it away from extreme temperatures, high humidity, and bright light.
