Uploading Printer Drivers to the RMS

After installing the EpsonNet NDPS Gateway, you need to upload the printer driver to the Resource Management Service (RMS).

  1. In the main NetWare Administrator browser, select EpsonNet NDPS DriverSetup from the Tool menu.

The EpsonNet NDPS DriverSetup dialog appears.

    setup

  2. Browse for the target NDPS Broker if there are two or more Brokers in the tree you have logged in. The Browse button is not available if there is only one Broker in the tree you have logged in.

    setup02

  3. Browse for the Driver File location where the INF file is located.

The desired printer drivers will be listed in the Printers to be added box.

  4. Click the Add All button to add all listed drivers to the RMS.

The printer drivers are added to the RMS.

Note for DFX-8500 printer:
EPSON provides different DFX-8500 printer drivers for Windows 95 and Windows 98. However, because of Novell specifications, you can register either the Windows 95 or the Windows 98 driver in the RMS, but not both. Therefore, you need to register one of the drivers for the entire network.

Now, you can create either public access printers or controlled access printers using the EpsonNet NDPS Gateway. See the following to get an idea of how to create printers:
