Check the Print Head Nozzles

You can print a nozzle check pattern to check for clogged nozzles using your Epson printer’s control panel or your software. See these sections below:

From the Control Panel (NX210 Series)

From the Control Panel (NX410 Series)

From the Computer

From the Control Panel (NX210 Series)

1.	Load a few sheets of plain paper in the sheet feeder.

2.	Press the Index Sheet and Scan buttons at the same time.

3.	Press  or  to select Nozzle Check, then press  Start.

4.	Check the nozzle check pattern that prints to see if there are gaps in the lines.

5.	If there are no gaps, the print head is clean and you can continue printing.

If there are gaps or the pattern is faint, clean the print head.

From the Control Panel (NX410 Series)

1.	Load a few sheets of plain paper in the sheet feeder.

2.	Press Setup.

3.	Press  or  to select Maintenance, then press OK.

4.	Select Nozzle Check and press OK.

5.	Press  Start.

6.	Check the nozzle check pattern that prints to see if there are gaps in the lines.

7.	If there are no gaps, the print head is clean and you can continue printing.

If there are gaps or the pattern is faint, clean the print head.

From the Computer

1.	Load a few sheets of plain paper in the sheet feeder.

2.	Windows: Right-click the  printer icon in the bottom right corner of your screen (the taskbar) and select Nozzle Check.

Macintosh:
Open the Applications folder, open the EPSON Printer Utility3, select your Epson printer, and click OK. Then select Nozzle Check.

3.	Click Print.

4.	Check the nozzle check pattern that prints to see if there are gaps in the lines.

NX210 Series:

NX410 Series:

5.	If there are no gaps, click Finish.

If there are gaps or the pattern is faint, clean the print head.
