Ejecting Memory Cards

Precautions for Macintosh users

Macintosh computers may write information on a memory card when it is loaded in the memory card slot. However, after doing so, some digital cameras may no longer be able to read the memory card.

Caution:
Always drag the memory card icon from the desktop into the trash to eject the card, turn off the printer or unplug the USB cable. Any other method can damage the memory card data.

Ejecting memory cards

After printing all of the jobs, eject the memory card.

Check that the memory slot lights are not flashing.

Press the eject button as shown in the illustration in the case of CompactFlash and Microdrive memory cards.

In the case of SmartMedia and Memory Stick memory cards, pull out the card as shown in the illustration.

Pull the card out as shown the illustration to eject the Memory Stick or SmartMedia.

Caution:
  • The handling method varies depending on the storage media. Be sure to refer to the documentation packaged with your memory card for details.
  • Do not remove the memory card while any of the memory slot lights are flashing. Data saved in the memory card may be destroyed.
