Replacing the Maintenance Cartridge

If the maintenance cartridge icon on the printer’s LCD indicates that the maintenance cartridge is full or nearly full, replace the maintenance cartridge as described below.

Replacement tanks are available from Epson (part number T5820).

Turn off the printer.

Open the maintenance cartridge cover.

Put your hand under the handle of the maintenance cartridge, then push it up while gently pulling it outward.

Warning:

If ink gets on your hands, wash them thoroughly with soap and water. If ink gets into your eyes, flush them immediately with water.

Remove the replacement maintenance cartridge from its package.

Caution:

Do not touch the green chip on the side of the maintenance cartridge; this may prevent normal operation.

Put the used maintenance cartridge in the plastic bag provided with the replacement maintenance cartridge, and dispose of it properly.

Note:

Do not tilt the used maintenance cartridge until it is sealed in the plastic bag.

Insert the new maintenance cartridge into the printer as far as it will go.

Close the maintenance cartridge cover.

Turn the printer back on.
