Replacing the Scanner Rollers

Check the scanner roller counter to see when you need to replace the rollers (DS-60000/DS-70000).
  1. Turn off the scanner.
  2. Unplug the power cord.
  3. Disconnect any connected cables.
  4. Remove any loaded originals from the scanner.
  5. Open the ADF cover.


  6. Press in the hooks on the sides of the pickup roller cover and flip down the cover.


  7. Slide the pickup roller to the left and pull it out to remove it.


  8. To install the new pickup roller, align the roller as shown and slide it to the right.


  9. Close the pickup roller cover.
  10. Press in the hooks on the sides of the separation roller cover and flip open the cover.


  11. Grasp the shaft of the separation roller, lift it up, and slide the roller off of the shaft as shown.


  12. Slide the replacement separation roller onto the shaft and align the notch on the roller with the tab on the shaft as shown.


  13. Flip down the separation roller shaft as shown and press it down until it clicks into place.


  14. Close the separation roller cover, then close the ADF cover.
  15. Plug in the power cord and turn on the scanner.
  16. Reset the roller counter after replacing the rollers.

Dispose of the used pickup and separations rollers following the regulations in your local area. Do not disassemble the rollers.
