Problems Using Options

Paper does not feed from the optional paper cassette
Feed jam when using the optional paper cassette
An installed option cannot be used

To confirm your options are installed correctly, print a status sheet. See Printing a Status Sheet for details.

Paper does not feed from the optional paper cassette

Cause What to do
The optional paper cassette may not be installed properly. See Optional Paper Cassette Unit for instructions on installing an optional paper cassette unit.
The paper source setting may not be correct. Make sure you have selected the proper paper source in your application.
There may be no paper in the paper cassette. Load paper into the selected paper source.
Too many sheets may be loaded in the paper cassette. Make sure that you have not tried to load too many sheets of paper into the cassette. The cassette can hold a maximum of 500 sheets of 64 to 105 g/m2 paper.

The paper size is not set correctly.

Make sure that the correct paper size is selected in the Tray Menu on the control panel.

The paper is jammed at the optional paper cassette.

An installed option cannot be used

Cause What to do

The installed option is not defined in the printer driver.

For Windows users:
See Making Optional Settings to make settings in the printer driver. When the product is connected with a computer and EPSON Status Monitor 3 has been installed, you can also monitor the status of the product. For details, seeInstalling EPSON Status Monitor 3.

For Macintosh users:
When you have attached or removed product options, you need to delete the product using Print Setup Utility (for Mac OS X 10.3) or Print Center (for Mac OS X 10.2 or below), and then re-register the product.
