Loading Single Sheets of Paper

Loading paper into the front tray

Follow the steps below to load paper into this product.

Note:

Leave enough space in front of this product for paper to be fully ejected.

Make sure the CD/DVD tray is not inserted in this product and the CD/DVD guide is closed.

Loading paper into the front tray

Note:

The front tray is designed primarily for loading letter-size plain paper. You can also use it to load Epson Premium Bright White Paper. When loading other kinds of paper, you must use the back tray.

Open the front cover by pressing the hollow portion as illustrated.

Fan a stack of paper, then tap it on a flat surface to even the edges.

Load the paper with the printable side facing down flush with the right edge guide. Then, slide the paper into the front tray so that the edge of the paper is even with the guideline on the front tray. And then slide the left edge guide so that it meets the left edge of the paper.

Caution:

Do not push the paper too far, or it may jam. Make sure the edges are even.

Pull the output tray and slide out the extension.

Note:

If the paper is curled, flatten it or curl it slightly toward the opposite side before loading. Printing on curled paper may cause ink to smear on your printout.

Loading paper into the back tray

Open the feeder guard, pull the paper support and slide out the extension. Then open the front cover by pressing the hollow portion as illustrated. And then pull the output tray and slide out the extension.

Fan a stack of paper, then tap it on a flat surface to even the edges.

Load the paper with the printable side facing up so it is against the right edge guide, and slide it into the back tray. After sliding the left edge guide so that it meets the left edge of the paper, close the feeder guard.

Note:

Always load paper into the trays by the short edge first.

Make sure that the paper stack is flush with or lower than the triangular load-limit mark on the edge guide.

If the paper is curled, flatten it or curl it slightly toward the opposite side before loading. Printing on curled paper may cause ink to smear on your printout.
