Paper Setting Menu

Select  Menu > Paper Setting, then select a paper source to customize the paper options.

Roll Paper menu

Setting Options Description
Remove Rewinds the loaded roll paper until it is ejected from the paper feeder; information on how to remove the roll paper is displayed on the LCD screen.
Feed/Cut Paper Backward

Forward

Cut

Moves the paper backward or forward, or cuts it using the built-in cutter.
Print Adjustments Paper Feed Adjust Select Auto to automatically adjust the paper feed settings.
Select Manual if automatic adjustment results are not satisfactory and you want to perform adjustments based on specific printing needs; select an adjustment setting from the following:
  • Select Quality First to print adjustment patterns to adjust the feed for image quality.
  • Select Length Accuracy First if you are printing images that require more precise dimensions and length, such as CAD files.
Print Head Alignment Select Auto(Standard) if printed ruled lines are misaligned or print results are grainy or otherwise unsatisfactory.

Select Auto(Details) if printed ruled lines are misaligned at the edge of the paper or Auto(Standard) alignment results are unsatisfactory.

Select Manual(Standard) if automatic alignment results are not satisfactory and you want to precisely align the print head using the printed adjustment patterns.

Select Manual(Details) if automatic and standard manual alignment results are not satisfactory and you want to select custom settings according to specific print needs.

Advanced Paper Settings Various options See the Advanced Paper Settings table below.
Remaining Amount Management Remaining Amount Management Select On to display and record the amount of remaining roll paper.
Remaining Amount Select the amount of roll paper remaining.
Remaining Alert Select the amount of remaining roll paper before a warning is displayed.
Change Paper Type or Change Paper Type/Paper Width Paper Type Select a paper category and paper type.
Paper Width Change the paper width by setting Paper Size Check to Off.

Select the width of the loaded paper, or select User-Defined if the width is not listed.

Advanced Paper Settings menu (in the Roll Paper menu)

Setting Options Description
Paper Thickness 0.01 to 1.50 mm or

0.4 to 59.1 mil

Select the thickness of the roll paper; displayed only when using a custom paper type.
Note: Load paper that is 0.003 to 0.02 inch (0.08 to 0.50 mm) thick and set the paper thickness accordingly.
Platen Gap Auto

Select the distance between the print head and the paper; displayed only when using a custom paper type.
Top Margin 3 mm

Select the margin for the leading edge of the printed image.

Depending on the paper type and printing environment, colors may be uneven near the leading edge if the margin is small.

Bottom Margin 3 mm

Select the margin for the trailing edge of the printed image.
Paper Suction –4 to +4 Select to adjust the printer's suction setting; choose lower values for thinner papers.
Back Tension Standard

Extra High

Select to adjust the paper feeding tension; choose High or Extra High if paper wrinkles during printing.
Drying Time Drying Time per Pass

Drying Time per Page

Set the amount of time the printer pauses to allow drying after each pass or each printed page.
Paper Size Check On

Off

Select On to detect the paper width when paper is loaded.

Select Off when the paper roll is empty. This allows you to set the paper width before feeding the paper.

Auto Cut Follow Paper Source Settings

Never Cut

Select Follow Paper Source Settings to follow the cut settings in Printer Settings > Paper Source Settings > Roll Paper Setup > Cut Settings.

Select Never Cut to cut paper manually.

Skew Reduction On

Off

Select Off if the front edge of thin or softer paper folds.
Roll Core Diameter 2inch

3inch

Select the paper core size for the loaded roll paper.
Paper Eject Roller Auto

Use (Heavy Load)

Use (Light Load)

Do Not Use

Select to control the paper ejection roller.

Select Auto to use the roller automatically depending on the type of Epson paper.

Select a Use option to always use the roller to eject paper.

Select Do Not Use when you are concerned about damaging the print surface.

Paper Feed Offset –0.70 to +0.70% Select the amount of offset necessary to reduce banding on uneven color in printouts; displayed only when using a custom paper type.
Restore Default Settings Restores advanced paper settings to their default values; not available with custom paper types.
Caution:
If the Paper Size Check setting is set to Off, the printer may print beyond the edges of the paper, causing ink to get on the printer.

Cut Sheet menu

Setting Options Description
Remove Ejects cut sheets; information on how to remove the cut sheets is displayed on the LCD screen.
Print Adjustments Paper Feed Adjust Select Auto to automatically adjust the paper feed settings.
Select Manual if automatic adjustment results are not satisfactory and you want to perform adjustments based on specific printing needs; select an adjustment setting from the following:

Poster Board menu

Setting Options Description
Remove Ejects the loaded poster board.
Print Adjustments Paper Feed Adjust Select Manual and select an adjustment setting from the following:

Advanced Paper Settings menu (in the Poster Board menu)

Setting Options Description
Paper Thickness 0.01 to 1.50 mm or

0.4 to 59.1 mil

Sets the thickness of the paper; displayed for custom paper settings.
Note: Load poster board that is 0.031 to 0.059 inch (0.8 to 1.50 mm) thick and set the paper thickness accordingly.
Paper Suction –4 to +4 Select to adjust the printer's suction setting; choose higher values to increase the suction of the paper to the platen.
Note: We recommend using the preset values for each paper type.
Drying Time Drying Time per Pass

Set the amount of time the printer pauses to allow drying after each pass or each printed page.
Paper Size Check On

Off

Select On to detect the paper width when paper is loaded.

Select Off if a paper setting error occurs when paper is correctly loaded.
