Using EPSON StatusMonitor

Accessing EPSON StatusMonitor
Making Configuration Settings

EPSON StatusMonitor monitors the printer. If it detects a printer error, it will inform you with an error message.

You can also use this utility to check ink levels before printing. When open, EPSON StatusMonitor displays the amount of ink remaining at the time it was opened. To update the ink level information, click the Update button.

Accessing EPSON StatusMonitor

To access EPSON StatusMonitor, follow the steps below.

Click Print or Page Setup on the File menu of your application.

Click the Utility icon button in the dialog box.

Click the EPSON StatusMonitor button in the Utility dialog box. The following dialog box appears.

Note:
When you install a Light Capacity ink cartridge, the Ink Level display will show that the cartridge is only half full. This is because a Light Capacity ink cartridge only contains half of the amount of ink as a regular cartridge.

Click Print or Page Setup on the File menu of your application.

Click the Utility icon button in the dialog box.

Click the Configuration button. The Configuration Settings dialog box appears.

This dialog box allows you to make the following settings:

Error notification

Choose how EPSON StatusMonitor notifies you in case of an error.

Warning

Choose how EPSON StatusMonitor notifies you if a warning message becomes necessary.

Temporary Spool folder

Choose the folder for temporary spooling of print data.

Temporary High Speed Copies folder

Choose the folder for multiple-copy print data storage.

Data will be sent to the printer after being stored on your disk.

Select this check box to prevent horizontal banding in your printout. By default, graphics data is sent by the computer to the printer in rectangular bands, which prevents the printer from having to reconstruct an entire image in memory before printing it. Selecting this check box will make the computer temporarily store the image data on its hard drive and then send it to the printer as a whole to prevent banding in the printed image.

Check for errors before starting to print.

Select this check box if you want to check for errors before starting to print.

Check the ink level before starting to print.
