System Requirements

For Macintosh computers

Before installing the scanner software, make sure that your system meets the following requirements.

For PCs

System

Microsoft^® Windows^® Me, Pre-installed Windows 98 Second Edition,
Windows XP, or Windows 2000; operating system must not be anupgrade from Windows 95

Interface

USB port (TYPE A receptacle)

Display

VGA or higher resolution monitor 640 x 480 screen resolution (800 x 600 or higher recommended), and 65,000 colors (24-bit display adapter with millions of colors recommended)

Note:
Color and tone reproduction are subject to the display capability of your computer system, including the video card, display monitor, and software. See the product documentation for details.

For Macintosh computers

System

USB-equipped Macintosh^® with Mac^® OS 8.6 to 9.x, or Mac OS X version 10.1.2 or later

Note for Mac OS X users:
You can use the scanner only in the Classic mode. If you are using a version earlier than 10.1.2, switch to Mac OS 9 to use the scanner.

Interface

Macintosh USB

Display

Color Monitor, 640 x 480 screen resolution (higher recommended), and 32,000 colors (millions of colors recommended)
