The control panel of the printer consists of 6 buttons, 3 lights, and a 32-character liquid crystal display (LCD).
This section describes the functions of the buttons on the control panel.

Power button |
Turns the printer on or off. |
2 |
Pause button |
Stops printing temporarily. Restarts printing if pressed when printer is in the pause mode. Clears print data in the printer memory if pressed and held for 3 seconds. Returns the printer from the SelecType menus to READY status. |

Paper Source button |
Selects a paper source (Roll with automatic cutting on
Cuts the roll paper automatically after printing if pressed and held for 3 seconds when Returns to the previous menu when pressed in SelecType mode. |

Paper Feed button |
Feeds paper forward.
Ejects cut-sheet paper when Sheet
Feeds the roll paper before cutting it when
Loads a sheet from the paper tray to the printing position if Changes parameters in forward order in SelecType mode. |

Paper Feed button |
Feeds as much paper in reverse as has been fed forward using the Paper Feed button

Menu button |
Displays the SelecType menus. Displays the PRINT STATUS MENU if pressed during printing. Selects menus in forward order if pressed in SelecType mode. Sets the selected parameter for the selected item in SelecType mode. Executes the selected menu option. Cleans the print head if pressed and held for 3 seconds. |
This section describes the functions of the lights on the control panel.
The lights let you know the status of the printer and the type of error, if one occurs.

This section describes the functions available when multiple buttons are pressed at the same time.

If the printer is turned on while you are pressing and holding the Pause button, the printer enters Maintenance Mode. |
This section describes the meaning of messages displayed on the LCD.
The messages are either status messages or error messages. For error messages, see An error has occurred.

READY |
The printer is ready to print. |
PRINTING |
The printer is processing data. |
PLEASE WAIT |
Wait until READY appears. |
PAUSE |
The printer is paused. |
PRESS PAUSE BUTTON |
Press the Pause button. |
CUTTING |
The printer is cutting the printout. |
CHARGING INK |
The printer is charging the ink delivery system. |
RESET |
The printer is being reset. |
F/W UPDATING |
The printer is updating the Firmware. |
UPDATE COMPLETE |
The printer has completed update of the Firmware. |
POWER OFF |
The printer is being turned off. |
CLEANING |
The printer is cleaning the ink tubes. |
