System Requirements

To use your printer, you need to have Microsoft^® Windows^® XP or 2000 installed.

USB connection:
To connect your printer via a standard, shielded USB 1.1 cable, you need a Windows XP or 2000 pre-installed PC equipped with a USB port. To use the USB 2.0 cable, you need a Windows XP or 2000 Pre-installed PC equipped with a USB 2.0 port.

If you want to connect your printer to a IEEE 1394 port, you need a Windows XP or 2000 pre-installed PC equipped with a IEEE 1394 port and the printer must be connected via a shielded IEEE 1394 cable.

Your computer should also meet the following system requirements.

Pentium 300 MHz processor for Windows XP Pentium 133 MHz processor for Windows 2000	Pentium 2.0 GHz or higher
128 MB RAM	256 MB RAM or more
200 MB hard disk space for Windows XP 100 MB hard disk space for Windows 2000	1 GB hard disk space or more
USB or IEEE 1394 f	USB 2.0 or IEEE 1394
SVGA monitor	SVGA monitor

Your computer dealer can help you update your system if it does not meet these requirements.

For Macintosh

To connect this printer to Apple^® Macintosh^® computers, you must use a USB cable.

Your Macintosh must also meet the following system requirements.

Mac OS X, 10.2, or later	Mac OS X, 10.2, or later
PowerPC G3 233 MHz	PowerPC G4, G5 or later
192 MB RAM	256 MB RAM
50 MB hard disk space	1 GB hard disk space or more
USB or FireWire	USB 2.0 or FireWire
SVGA monitor	SVGA monitor

Note:

For Mac OS X, to see how much memory is available, choose About This Mac from the Apple menu.

In addition to these system and memory requirements, you need 20 MB of free hard disk space to install your printer software. To print, you also need extra hard disk space amounting to about twice the size of the file that you want to print.
