Using the EPSON StatusMonitor

Accessing Status Monitor
Changing Configuration Settings

The StatusMonitor utility monitors the Stylus Scan's printer functions. If it detects a printer error, it will inform you with an error message.

You can also use this utility to check ink levels before printing. StatusMonitor displays the amount of ink remaining at the time StatusMonitor was opened. To update the ink-level information, click the Update button.

Accessing Status Monitor

To access StatusMonitor, follow these steps.

Click Print or Page Setup on the File menu of your application.

Click the Utility icon button in the dialog box.

Click the EPSON StatusMonitor button in the Utility dialog box. The following dialog box appears.

Changing Configuration Settings

If you want to change the way the StatusMonitor utility monitors the Stylus Scan's printer functions, follow the steps below.

Click Print or Page Setup on the File menu of your application.

Click the Utility icon button in the dialog box.

Click the Configuration button. The Configuration Settings dialog box appears.

The options in this dialog box allow you to make the following settings.

Error notification	Choose how StatusMonitor notifies you in case of an error.
Warning	Choose how StatusMonitor notifies you if a warning message is necessary.
Temporary Spool folder	Choose a folder for temporary spooling of print data.
Temporary High Speed Copies folder	Choose the folders for multiple-copy print data storage.
Data will be sent to the printer after being stored on your disk	Select this check box to prevent banding in large images. When you select this box, the computer saves the image data before sending it in one piece to the Stylus Scan.
Check for errors before starting to print.	Select this check box if you want to check for errors before starting to print.
Check the ink level before starting to print.	Select this check box if you want to check the ink level before starting to print.
