If the color isn’t important in your document or image, you can print it using the Black/Grayscale option to conserve your color ink cartridges. This can be especially economical if you’ve installed an
extra-high capacity black ink cartridge.

You can select the Black/Grayscale option only when printing on plain paper, matte paper, or envelopes. This setting is not recommended for printing black-and-white photos.

        Tip:
If you often print in black/grayscale, you can create a
shortcut option with this setting turned on. Or you can change the printer’s
default print settings so that black/grayscale is turned on all the time (you can still turn off this setting from within a program to print in color).
