Image Menu

Settings on the Image menu let you adjust the quality of your image. The available settings depend on the currently selected color mode and input source. The settings are saved separately for each selected color mode. Click the links at the end of this section for more information.

Advanced Dynamic Tone Mapping

Scene Adaptive Gamma

Gamma

RGBCMY

Dynamic Tone Mapping: optimizes the PQ (Perceptual Quantizer) curve settings based on the brightness of the projected HDR content; select On to improve the visibility of dark and bright images

Scene Adaptive Gamma: adjusts the coloring and obtains a more vivid image depending on the scene; select a larger number to enhance contrast

Gamma: adjusts the colors by selecting one of the gamma correction values or referring to a gamma graph. Select Custom to make finer adjustments.
  • Selecting a smaller value reduces the overall brightness of the image to make the image sharper. Selecting a larger value brightens the dark areas of images, but the color saturation for lighter areas may become weaker.
  • Project a still picture to adjust the Gamma. You cannot adjust the Gamma correctly when projecting movies. Medical images may not be reproduced correctly depending on your settings and screen specifications.

RGBCMY: adjusts the hue, saturation, and brightness for each color

Dynamic Contrast Response Speed

Black Level

Adjusts the projected luminance based on the image brightness; set to On to automatically adjust the amount of light

Select Response Speed > High Speed to adjust the amount of light as soon as the scene changes.

Select Black Level to set the black level when the brightness level of the image signal is zero (if you select 0%, the light source turns off).

Lights-Out Control Lights-Out Signal Level

Lights-Out Timer

Automatically turns off the light source when the signal level falls below the reference level for a set period of time

Lights-Out Signal Level: sets the brightness level for the video signal being controlled. After turning off automatically, it turns on immediately when exceeding the specified image level

Lights-Out Timer: sets the amount of time before automatically turning off the light source

Reset Resets all settings on the Image menu (except for Color Mode) to their default settings

White Balance Settings

Setting Description
Color Temp. Adjusts the overall tone of the image within a range from 3200K to 10000K; lower values tint the image red, and higher values tint the image blue
Note: When Color Mode is set to Dynamic, the set Color Temp. may differ from the actual Color Temp. of the light from the projector. Use this menu as a guide.
G-M Correction Makes fine adjustments to the color tone; higher values tint the image green and lower values tint the image red
Custom Adjusts the individual RGB components of the offset and gain
Color Matching Adjusts the tint and brightness for the color tone from white to black; half of the overlapped area is displayed in black so that you can check the edge of the image easily

Select Adjustment Level to select from eight adjustment levels, from white to gray to black; adjust each level individually. Set to All to adjust the tint for each color from level 2 to 8 in a batch (once the values of red, blue, or green are at maximum or minimum at any level, you cannot perform further adjustments). Select Red/Green/Blue to adjust the tone for each color. Select Brightness to adjust the image brightness.

Image Enhancement Settings

Setting Description
Image Preset Mode Sets the Image Enhancement options as a batch using preset values. The following settings are saved in the preset options:
  • Frame Interpolation
  • Super-resolution
  • Auto Contrast Enhancement

To minimize delays, select Off. If you select Off, you cannot set the other items in the Image Enhancement setting. After selecting Preset 1 to Preset 5, you can fine tune each setting individually.

Frame Interpolation Adjusts the smoothness of image movement
Note: This setting is not available when Image Preset Mode is set to Off, or Image Processing is set to Fast or Auto (ALLM), and the current input source is compatible with ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode).

Set to Off if your resulting images contain noise.

Super-resolution Sharpens blurred images when projecting low-resolution images
Note: This setting is not available when Image Preset Mode is set to Off.

Fine Line Adjust: enhances the contrast and outlines of complicated images

Soft Focus Detail: enhances the contrast and outlines of smooth backgrounds

Auto Contrast Enhancement Automatically adjusts the contrast of the projected image to create a clearer and sharper image
Note: This setting is not available when Image Preset Mode is set to Off.
