Using EPSON Smart Panel

Overview of EPSON Smart Panel

Starting EPSON Smart Panel

With EPSON Smart Panel you can scan and send data directly to an assigned application, the EPSON photo-sharing site, or your PDA (Personal Digital Assistant). You can also convert photos and documents into a digital form quickly and easily.

EPSON Smart Panel is included in your scanner software installation. For information, see the Start Here Sheet.

Note:

If you plan to scan transparent materials using the integrated TPU and EPSON Smart Panel, see the EPSON Smart Panel online help for details.

If you use Scan to Web or Scan to P.I.M. (PRINT Image Matching) File, you can scan images using PRINT Image Matching. For information on PRINT Image Matching, see PRINT Image Matching.

PRINT Image Matching

PRINT Image Matching is a technology that stores a wider range of color information and enhancements in scanned images. When you use Scan to Web or Scan to P.I.M. File features, PRINT Image Matching information is recorded in the scanned JPEG image files. Then, by using an application and printer that are compatible with PRINT Image Matching, you can effortlessly achieve printouts that come to life with a dynamic range of brilliant colors.

Note:

PRINT Image Matching information does not change the way an image is displayed on the computer screen.

Starting EPSON Smart Panel

Follow the steps below to start EPSON Smart Panel.

For Windows users, click Start, point to All Programs (for Windows XP users) or Programs (for Windows Me, 98, or 2000 users), EPSON Smart Panel, then click EPSON Smart Panel.

For users of Mac OS 8.6 to 9.x, click EPSON Smart Panel in the Apple menu.

The EPSON Smart Panel window appears.

To access an application, click its button. See Applications in the EPSON Smart Panel Window for details about the applications available. For details, refer to the EPSON Smart Panel online help.
