Setting the Paper Basket

For EPSON Stylus Pro 9800
For EPSON Stylus Pro 7800

To avoid your printouts getting dirty or wrinkled, set the paper basket as explained below. You can use the paper basket for both roll paper and cut sheet media.

For EPSON Stylus Pro 9800

When feeding paper forward (Roll Paper Banner (1580 mm or more); thick [0.5 mm or more] cut sheet)

Caution:

Do not load thick paper longer than 24 inches length; otherwise, damage to your printouts may occur.

Be sure to feed the paper forward if it is thick (0.5 to 1.5 mm) or roll paper banner (1580 mm or more); otherwise, damage to your printouts may occur.

Make sure that the upper hooks are fully inserted, and the paper guides are in front of the paper basket.

Put the lower shafts down in the forward position as shown, so that they rest on the floor.

When feeding paper backward

Note:

When feeding roll paper larger than the B0 size backward, make sure that your printer has at least 30 cm (12 inches) of space to its rear. This prevents the printed paper edges from folding.

When you feed paper backward, remove the flange from the drive unit and fully slide the movable unit to the left side of the printer; otherwise, the printed paper may conflict with the Auto Take-up Reel Unit and paper feed errors may occur.

Take off the center shaft from the upper basket hooks to pass under the paper guides.

Pull the upper hooks out to their full length. Hook both ends of the center shaft on the upper basket hooks.

Gently pinch the upper part of each paper guide and push it to the back position to allow the printout to come out properly.

Make sure the lower shafts are in the upward position, and hook the basket rings on the upper basket hooks.

For EPSON Stylus Pro 7800

When feeding paper forward

When feeding paper forward, put the paper basket down in the forward position, as shown below.

Note:

Feed the paper forward if it is thick (0.5 to 1.5 mm) or its length is 914.4 mm or more.

When the paper basket is loosened, turn the following part to fix it.

When feeding paper backward

Gently pinch the upper part of each paper guide and push it to the back position.

Note:

You can feed the paper backward when its length is shorter than 914.4 mm; otherwise, feed the paper forward.

If the paper thickness is 0.5 mm or more, feed the paper forward.

Turn the paper basket to the backward position, as shown below.
