Make Scan Settings

For photos

Follow the steps below to make appropriate settings for scanning photos (reflective documents) in Professional Mode.

Place your photos on the document table. If necessary, see the following section for more information.
Placing Documents and Photos

Start EPSON Scan and select the Professional Mode. For details see Changing the scanning mode.

The setting window appears.

Specify settings to match your document, referring to the illustration and the table below.

Original

Document Type

Reflective

Document Source

Document Table

Auto Exposure Type

Photo

Destination

Image Type

Select an appropriate image type.

Resolution

Select an appropriate resolution. See Select a suitable resolution.

Target Size

To be set in a later step.

Click Preview to preview the image.

Use Target Size to specify the output size of the scanned image. Specify Adjustment settings, if necessary. (You may need to scroll to the bottom of the screen.) See Create Beautiful Reproductions for details.

Click Scan to start scanning.
The scanned image is sent to the application or saved in the specified folder.

Select a suitable resolution

When you specify a high resolution, the number of pixels increases and the scanned image becomes fine in texture. However, increasing the resolution causes the file size to increase. Specify a suitable resolution according to your scanning purpose.

The following table gives recommended resolutions for various purposes.

For film

Follow the steps below to make appropriate settings for scanning film in the Professional Mode.

Place your film on the document table. If necessary, see the following section for more information.
Placing Film

Start EPSON Scan and then select the Professional Mode. For details on how to select the scanning mode, see Changing the scanning mode.

The following window appears.

Specify Original settings to match your film.

Document Type

Film Type

Select a film type from the Film Type list.

Specify Destination settings for your image file.

Image Type

Select a suitable image type.

Resolution

Select a suitable resolution.
