How To Scan

Starting EPSON Scan Software

When using a TWAIN-compliant application
When using EPSON Scan as a stand alone application
When using the EPSON Smart Panel software

You can start EPSON Scan in three ways. Depending on your scanning purpose, use the starting method creatively.

When using a TWAIN-compliant application

If you want to edit scanned images further, start EPSON Scan from a TWAIN-compliant application. Scanned images are sent to the application, and you can then edit the scanned images.

Note for Mac OS X users:
  • You can only start EPSON Scan using Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as described here.
  • If Adobe Photoshop is installed on your computer before you install EPSON Scan, you can start EPSON Scan using Photoshop. In Photoshop, select Import from the File menu, and then choose EPSON Scanner Perfection 3200.
  • When you install Adobe Photoshop to your computer after installing EPSON Scan, you need to install the Photoshop Plug-in. See Installing the Photoshop Plug-in.

When using the EPSON Smart Panel software

EPSON Smart Panel allows you to scan and send data directly to an assigned application, the EPSON photo-sharing website, or your PDA (Personal Digital Assistant). When you want to digitize photos quickly and easily, start EPSON Scan from the EPSON Smart Panel. For more information on EPSON Smart Panel, see Overview of EPSON Smart Panel.
